What is Map View in TraceGains Gather® Marketplace?
Map View is a feature within TraceGains Gather® Marketplace search that displays supplier and item information on an interactive Google Map. In the Marketplace, after entering your search terms, the map shows pins representing supplier locations for the suppliers or items you seek. Click on a pin to see more details about the supplier or distributor and access their Marketplace listing.
Why use Maps for Searching?
Using Maps for searching helps users streamline the sourcing process and make informed supply chain decisions. It's beneficial for businesses that need local sources or to mitigate transportation costs, as it easily identifies nearby suppliers or distributors. The feature also helps uncover gaps or opportunities in the supply chain, like finding an item in another region or country if it's unavailable locally or impacted by location-based supply disruptions.
Why use Maps for Compliance?
Map View can also play an essential role in supplier verification processes. For example, the satellite view can be used to validate the location address provided by a supplier. This ensures accuracy and helps maintain a transparent and trustworthy supply chain. By confirming the location of suppliers, businesses can mitigate risks and maintain a high standard of quality and compliance throughout their procurement process.
