What are Marketplace Badges?
In the TraceGains Gather® Marketplace, suppliers who actively contribute content, respond to requests, and keep their listings up to date can earn badges and scores that recognize their commitment to responsiveness, data quality, and customer service.
These achievements help buyers identify engaged supplier partners and can contribute to increased visibility within Marketplace search results.
Badges appear throughout the Marketplace experience, helping potential customers quickly recognize suppliers that maintain complete listings, provide current documentation, and respond promptly to requests.
This article will explore the different badges and scores available in the Marketplace, their value to suppliers, and how they can be earned.
View Badge Progress
To view and track your company’s progress towards each badge, simply navigate to Customer Management > Company.
The Company page displays badge progress indicators and completion requirements, allowing you to see what actions are needed to earn or maintain each badge. In the example below, the company is 85% of the way toward earning the Documents Up to Date badge.

The following sections describe each Marketplace badge, the requirements for earning it, and the benefits associated with each achievement.
Responds Quickly
Badge Description
The Responds Quickly badge recognizes suppliers who consistently respond to Marketplace sales requests in a timely manner. Earning this badge demonstrates a commitment to prompt customer service and engagement.
Badge Qualifications
Suppliers who maintain an average of 48 hours or less may earn this badge.
Badge Benefits
- Demonstrates responsiveness to prospective customers.
- Helps buyers identify suppliers that are likely to provide timely answers, samples, and quotes.
- May improve search visibility within the Marketplace.
- Faster response times may contribute to improved placement within Marketplace search results.
Documents Up to Date
Badge Description
The Documents Up-to-Date Badge highlights suppliers who consistently maintain current and accurate documentation within their Marketplace listings. This badge demonstrates transparency and helps buyers feel confident that the information available is reliable and actively maintained.
Badge Qualifications
To earn the Documents Up-to-Date Badge, more than 80% of visible documents associated with a supplier's listings must be current and not expired.
Badge Benefits
- Improves buyer confidence in supplier information.
- Encourages stronger Marketplace visibility.
- May improve search placement for supplier, item, and packaging listings.
- Demonstrates commitment to maintaining current documentation.
Service Excellence
Badge Description
The Service Excellence Badge recognizes suppliers who consistently provide outstanding support and fulfill documentation requests efficiently.
Badge Qualifications
Suppliers must meet both of the following criteria:
Quick Response:
Complete key document requests in an average of fewer than 14 days.
Key documents include:
- Allergens
- Nutrition
- Country of Origin
- Suitability Requirements
- Item Questionnaire
- Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
- Product Specification
- Certificate of Analysis (CoA) Sample
- Supplier Questionnaire
High Fulfillment Rate:
Suppliers must achieve the fulfillment rate required for their request volume tier.

| Tier 1 | 3,000+ requests: 70% or higher fulfillment rate |
| Tier 2 | 500-2,999 requests: 75% or higher fulfillment rate |
| Tier 3 | 100-499 requests: 80% or higher fulfillment rate |
| Tier 4 | 1-99 requests: 90% or higher fulfillment rate |
Supplier Champion Badge
Badge Description
The Supplier Champion Badge represents overall excellence within the Marketplace. It recognizes suppliers who maintain complete and accurate listings while demonstrating strong engagement and responsiveness.
Badge Qualifications
To qualify for this badge, a supplier must meet the following criteria:
- Documents Up-to-Date Badge
- Responds Quickly Badge
- Supplier Listing Score > 80%
Badge Benefits
The Supplier Champion Badge provides a significant Marketplace visibility advantage by identifying suppliers who maintain complete listings and strong engagement practices.
Benefits include:
- Increased credibility with buyers
- Enhanced supplier visibility
- Improved Marketplace search placement
- Recognition as a highly engaged supplier partner
Listing Completeness
Listing Completeness is not a badge; however, it contributes to your overall Marketplace presence and Listing Scores.
What is Listing Completeness?
Listing Completeness measures how much information has been added to your Marketplace listings, including:
- Company information
- Item data
- Images
- Tags
- Attributes
- Required documentation
Improving Listing Completeness can increase your Listing Scores and improve visibility within Marketplace search results.
View your Listing Completeness stats via Customer Management > Company > Listing Completeness.
Listing Scores
While Listing Scores are not badges, they help measure the completeness and quality of information available within Marketplace listings.
Higher scores generally indicate more complete listings and can contribute to a stronger Marketplace presence.
There are two score levels available:
- Company Listing Score
- Item Listing Score
Company Level Listing Score
Your Company Listing Score reflects the completeness of your company-level Marketplace information.
Only suppliers with a Company Listing Score greater than 80% are eligible for the Supplier Champion Badge.
To view your Company Listing Score, navigate to:
Customer Management > Company > Listing Completeness.
Item Listing Scores
Each item receives its own Item Listing Score based on the completeness of its information and associated documentation.
Higher scores indicate more complete Marketplace listings and provide a useful measure of listing quality and completeness.
To view Item Listing Scores, navigate to:
Customer Management > Items
Select an item's score to view a detailed breakdown of the criteria contributing to that score.
Hover over the Information ‘i’ icons to learn where each step takes place in the product.
Item Listing Criteria
The Item Listing Score is calculated using the following weighted criteria:

| Three or more Functions, Applications, Features & Benefits | 13% |
| Three or more Tags | 13% |
| Eight of Eight Key Item Documents Available and Visible | 40% |
Note: The document portion of the score is all-or-nothing. All eight required documents must be available to receive the full 40%.
How Badges and Scores Work Together
Badges recognize specific supplier achievements, such as responsiveness and document maintenance, while Listing Scores measure the completeness of company and item information.
Together, badges and Listing Scores provide insight into supplier engagement and listing completeness while contributing to Marketplace presence.
Suppliers that maintain complete listings, current documentation, and timely responses are better positioned to showcase their business to potential customers within the Marketplace.

To improve Marketplace visibility:
