Create Featured Categories for your Items

What are Featured Categories? 

Featured Categories are customized groupings of your item listings that enable you to brand and distinguish your item listings in a way that is appealing to prospects in your market segment.

Why Use Featured Categories?

Featured Categories enable you to boost the organization and appeal of your item listings. This unique tool lets suppliers on the Marketplace group their items into distinct categories, enhancing product visibility and addressing the specific needs of prospects.

About Featured Categories

• Suppliers can create unlimited categories for their Marketplace Showcase
• Each category can house unlimited items, with overlapping items permissible across categories
• Suppliers may configure how their categories are organized in their Marketplace Showcase (e.g., which categories show at top of page)
• When a buyer selects a Category within your Marketplace Showcase, the buyer will view a filtered list of your item listings included within the category

In the Marketplace, each category you create will be depicted as a picture card with the following elements:

• Background: 
  • Image 
• Foreground: 
  • Category name
  • Number of items listings in category

How to Add a Featured Category

Use the following steps to create a new category:

Step 1: Navigate to Sales Hub > Showcase

Step 2: Select ‘Add featured category’.

Step 3: Enter information into the following fields: 

• Title: 
  • Enter your desired category name.
• Item Selection:
  • Search for items you want in this category
    • Items may be created within Listings > Items page of the Customer Management app
    • The search feature only shows items set as “visible” in the Customer Management app
  • Select each item you want to add from the search dropdown (the dropdown will automatically populate based on the search text you type in)
• Image: 
  • You are required to add an image for every category
  • The size of the image that buyers will see on the Marketplace depends on the number of items in the category (our system automatically scales pictures)
  • Ensure the image is within 40 mb and at least 400 x 400px.
  • Note: Your category will not save without an image.

Step 4: Click ‘Create category’ to launch the featured category.

How to Edit an Existing Featured Category

Use the following steps to make changes to a category:

Step 1: Click 'edit’, below the desired category picture card.

Step 2: In the Featured Category Editor, amend the title or items as needed.

Step 3: Ensure your category has an image.

Step 4: Click ‘Save Changes’ to update.
